People have been so incredibly nice since my diagnosis. Reaching out, and catching up, someone bought us dinner and got some very thoughtful gift cards to restaurants we love in Portland ( Bamboo Sushi and Por Que No Taqueria). One of the most interesting things someone sent me (and I don't need anything, I am doing great) was a subscription to MasterClass. I have to say, it was a great idea and gift because at the time, I wasn't very mobile, was recovering from a hospital stay etc.
I don't want to sound like an ad for MasterClass, but I am going to sound like an add for MasterClass.
The first class I took was "How to become an astronaut". Spoiler alert, I am not going to become an astronaut. BUT, I love things space-related and would love to go into space. Its also something I would never take a class in but this time I did. It was so interesting. I learned everything from gravitational dynamics to how astronauts train to what take off and space walks are like. It was a great insider view.
Now I am in the middle of "How to become a disruptive entrepreneur" taught by Richard Branson. Not only is he fascinating to listen too, but his stories and his mindset are amazing too. My favorite quote from him so far is the 5 words that he uses to make decisions, "Screw It Let's Do It". I love that!
So, if you are interested, look into a MasterClass subscription. Or if you are looking for a gift for someone who is stuck at home for a while, I'd highly recommend it. Its a good one.
Just say the word and I write to Jeff Bezos and get you on the next space flight.
